We sometimes hear from users of Series 60 handset users stating that they’ve filled up their memory, and the memory is so full that they can’t get in to delete any files.
We’ve not had any experience of this, but the best thing to try is to restart the phone (by taking the battery out) when it “hangs” and then starting the phone in “safe mode”(booting and hold ABC key). This causes the phone to load as few apps as possible at startup. To do this, hold down the ABC key, and while holding it down, start up the phone. Hopefully you will then be able to transfer files from your C drive to your MMC to free up the memory.
As a very last resort, you can format the phone and start again - 1st post in this FAQ section - This will remove all data, and you’ll have to restore your phone’s information from a backup which you may have made on your MMC or via PC Suite.
If you still can’t get into the phone, the final option appears to to be to take the phone to the nearest Club Nokia shop (or your retailer), who should be able to re-flash the phone to factory settings.
You can fix the app close main error..
Shinobi’s ‘App. Closed Main’ Tutorial
1) Open your filemanager/explorer
2) Go to c:/system/bootdata & delete FirstBoot.dat
3) Turn off phone & take out your MMC card
4) Turn on phone and put in current time/date
5) Wait for it to boot up then turn off phone again.
6) Put MMC back in and turn on phone.
Encoding you movies with Helix Producer Pro
This are the setting i found to have a fair quality and a good size to put the movies on the phone. 30 minutes = to 3.7mega:
- 1. you need to set your input file (divx, avi, mpeg, rm, *.*)
- 2. you need to add a file destination (target and name for destination)
- 3. in Audiences menu you need to clear all sellectet and leave only one for full customization.
- 4 . set the resize, leaving the constrain size on, to 176x (the default size of the movie size)
- 5. set the codec to Real Player 8
- 6. by clicking in the audience file you have more options…set them to:
- 18 kbps
- 5fps
- All audio codecs to 6.5 kbps
